What is our buoy? What are we doing?
A survey of canadian reservoirs
In collaboration with Environment Canada and hydropower companies, we are looking into understanding how reservoirs are emitting greenhouse gases to the atmosphere across Canada.
In 2023, we collected data from 6 reservoirs across Ontario and Quebec.
In 2024, we are collecting data from reservoirs across British Colombia and Quebec.
Our buoy marks the main area where we collect data. We return a few times to this site throughout the summer. We also collect data at multiple other locations in the reservoir.

Temperature
Gas concentrations (O2, CO2, CH4)
Nutrients
NOT collecting data on fish
